How I Overcome Flight Anxiety

I’m writing to you from a bumpy flight. We haven’t even been able to unbuckle yet. How ironic.

I use to have to carry a stuffed animal any time I flew because I would be so nervous. My poor animal would get squeezed to death because clinging to that animal would obviously keep me safe during turbulence. Duh.

It’s no secret I hate a bumpy flight. I always check the weather before a flight and if I see rain I know I’m in for a fun ride. I’ve flown all over the world and yet I STILL hate turbulence and any sign of a bump.

It’s no secret I hate a bumpy flight. I always check the weather before a flight and if I see rain I know I’m in for a fun ride. I’ve flown all over the world and yet I STILL hate turbulence and any sign of a bump.

I’ve tried everything to keep myself from getting nervous and freaking out. So after flying in hundreds of flights and trying countless strategies, I’ve found something that W.O.R.K.S.

If you get nervous on flights or someone you know does, you need to try this super simple strategy and you only need 2-3 things.

Step 1: Pull our your bottle of lavender or balance essential oil (or both) BEFORE the flight takes off

Step 2: Place a drop in your hand

Step 3: Rub on your feet, behind your neck, under your nose, wrists, and in your palms and inhale deeply.

That’s it, folks. This will change your entire flight experience. I always keep a bottle on my lap just in case it gets bumpy again and I need to reapply.

I tired this while flying out of a hurricane in Florida so you could guess it was a bit choppy. It was white outside and we never had the seat belt sign turned off. Fun, right? I wasn’t nervous once. Granted, my hands were dripping sweat. But other than that, I was cool as a cucumber.

Try out this super simple way to relax and watch the flight stress and anxiety melt away even when you’re flying out of a natural disaster.
